Kaiser Jeep – 1966 to 1969
The Jeepster Commando series was designed to compete in the new Sport-Utility market of Broncos and Land Cruisers. Following in the footsteps of the Willys, the Kaiser Jeepster was a mix; part Jeep CJ and part Jeep Wagoneer. It was also aimed at the same market, those looking for a four-wheel drive sports convertible family car. Advertising for the Jeepster stated that it was a “Happy combo! Racy and rugged.” The “Kaiser” style Jeepster Commando was produced by AMC in 1970 and 1971 when Kaiser was bought by American Motor Company.
